My Story
I am Melissa Krawecki. I am a Registered Social Worker OCSWSSW Psychotherapist, skilled educator, group facilitator and published author in bereavement of the memoir "In the Shade of Ava's Tree: Surviving HELLP, Stillbirth and Rebirth." I focused my clinical work on perinatal loss and the experienced of the bereaved and those that have experienced trauma. I co-founded and co-facilitated Elgin Community Loss. I have spent over twenty years in the social sector as a counsellor and service navigator. I am skilled in conflict resolution and mediation, and navigating difficult conversations. I have been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and ACT Therapy and use a talk therapy approach to my bereavement work with individuals, couples, professionals and groups.
